New Music From Bat For Lashes| Sleep Alone

bat for lashes New Music From Bat For Lashes| Sleep Alone

Bat For Lashes or Natasha Khan if you prefer, is rising in my interest meter as of late.  I was totally clueless on the voice from Brighton England until London D put her music up. I could give you a million excuses on why last week was my introduction to B.F.L but you’re allowed to miss a good one every now and then, besides, running a new website is valid enough. Here’s a listen to “Sleep Alone” which you may have heard a snippet on the Epk London posted a few weeks back. The eagerly awaited album “Two Suns” is in stores next Tuesday.

Peter Hadar has returned to the cafe with a brand new video for “Planets” off of his sophomore album Well Dressed For The Art Show. Video features Victoria Secrets model Selita Cannon Ebanks, a horrid memory of Legos and a reminder to myself that my next place I live, will definitely contain a similar view.

Adele | Hometown Glory [Live on Letterman]

Grammy Award winner, Adele stop by the David Letterman show last night to perform my favorite track according to my Itunes plays counted, Hometown Glory, off of her debut album 19.

Simply put, this performance is amazing.  Seeing her perform live at the Apple Store a few months ago and watching this video gives us high hopes for her sophmore album.  Which she has been writing for since her US tour ended in late January.

Camp Lo | On Smash/Crime of 89 feat Styles P

To this day when I play Camp Lo’s, Uptown Saturday Night, I felt that they were on some futuristic ish.  An East Coast Outkast, if you will.  Well, Camp Lo is back with their second video off of Stone & Rob: Caught On Tape (which is in stores now).  This track one features Styles P.  While it might not be set in the future, Camp Lo is doing just fine in the present.

Doves | Birds Flew Backwards

Doves

I really didn’t know how to start this Monday morning. Whether to do with something upbeat or something smooth as somber. Thanks to my late delay due to the subway (gotta love the MTA), I want to start today off with the latter. The Doves are an indie rock band from Manchester, United Kingdom consisting of two brothers, guitarist Jez Williams, drummer Andy Williams and lead vocalist/bassist Jimi Goodwin.

Believe it or not, these guys started out as a dance act back in 1988, known as Sub Sub.  Through the years due to their studio burning down and losing all their work, they decided to change their name to Doves, and concentrate solely on music.  Check out the track, Birds Flew Backwards off their 4th studio album, Kingdom of Rust, which is due in stores, April 7th.
