Excuse us for our Maxwell overload this week! blame it on the eight years we waited for new material. A few days back we posted the extremely long awaited full version of “Pretty Wings” which is piling up a ton of views on our youtube channel. Well it was only a matter of time before the video premiered, we just was not expecting it to be so soon! A new look, same great voice and still smooth as ever, ladies can breathe again for Maxwell has returned.

Lately, my email has been flooded and I blame health reasons for not getting back to everyone so soon! one that I overlooked was info on Kat Edmonson a name that by years end, should be well known. Edmonson the Austin Texas native has one of the most unique voices I heard in quite sometime. A voice that brings smiles to our faces and puts her in a category all by herself. Unlike Esperanza Spaulding, Melody Gardott and a few other artists to enter the genre over the past few years, what separates Edmonson is her quality band. A band that features J.J. Johnson (John Mayer), Chris Lovejoy (Norah Jones) Eric Revis (Branford Marsalis Quartet) & John Ellis (Charlie Hunter) now with a line-up like that, you know good music is being created. Check out “Just Like Heaven” a cover of The Cure (yes The Cure) classic and one of my favorite tunes by the band, where she gives it her own spin in a sultry Jazzy kind of way.

Asher Roth | Be By Myself ft Cee-Lo [Video]

You read right folks, Cee-Lo actually appears in a video he is co-featured in (Sorry Estelle).  Looks like the promotion train for Asher keeps going.  You have to respect this kid’s grind.  From making music on myspace, to having his video world premiere on MTV.  His debut album, Asleep In The Bread Aisle, landed at number 3 on the billboard charts last week.   Word around the cafe, is that it’s a solid album.

In the series that keeps giving, Shaun Boothe delivers us The Unauthorized Biography of Jimi Hendrix.  In Set 5 out of 12, Shaun does what he does in the previous chapters.  Fill us in with the life and legacy of each indivdual.  Mr. Boothe biographies are a breath of fresh air, that we can play over and over again.  Keep em coming Shaun!!!

Adele | Hometown Glory [Video]

Adele has finally released a video for what is sure to be her last single from 19.  What better song then Hometown Glory.  It’s amazing this song sounds better live then it does recorded.

One EskimO | Kandi

Indie Rock group One EskimO is the brain child of Kristian Leontiou. After years of trying to find his way as a artist, Kristian formed One EskimO in 2004 with Adam Falkner (musician/drummer/giraffe), Martin Waugh (guitar/penguin), and Jamie Sefton (bass/horns/monkey).  Their debut album, All Balloons, is set to be released this June 1st.  Believe us when we say this is laid back with your feet up on your coffee table music at it’s finest (which is what I’m doing now.)  Check out the video above and if you like what you heard, head over to their myspace page to get a feel for these guys.

Maxwell Releases Pretty Wings From Upcoming Album

Maxwell has FINALLY released his long awaited single “Pretty Wings” from his upcoming Black Summers Night album to hit stores on July 7th.  No need to express how we feel about the song, in fact Maxwell could sing the alphabet backwards and it still would be eargasmic.  So for some of us who’ve worn out the snippet version, here’s the full length to enjoy.  Summertime just got a little better.

The Noisettes| Atticus

The Noisettes have released there sophomore album ‘Wild Young Hearts” and we must admit it’s more than what we expected from the trio.  Unfortunately, if you live in the states, you may have to wait or find means (legally) of obtaining a copy.  Check out a standout tune which is also rumored to be there next single “Atticus” and is nothing short of delightfullness, where Shinghai sounds her best in a soothing guitar ballad.  Definitely one of the better albums to be released in the first quarter of 09.
