Florence and The Machine

Florence Welch has already achieved more hype than most new artists could only dream of.  Two monstrous singles,  a critics choice award (same award Adele won last year) and one of the most anticipated albums this year.  Florence once again shows why all the above accolades were deserving with her latest effort “Cosmic Love” from the eagerly awaited “Lungs” in stores July 6th.  Emotional-laiden lyrics accompanied by a stellar drum pattern.  Welch is evolving into something special and with catchy effective pop songs like this, how can you doubt it.

Desire 500x332 Desire| Mirror Mirror

Apparently Johnny jewel of Glass Candy has decided to venture out and form a side project of his own. Desire a two piece duo, is the latest installment of disco greatness provided by the Italians Do It Better entourage. Accompanied by frontwoman Megan Louise they’ve released “Mirror Mirror” which takes fairytale chanting to a whole different level. We actually wonder had this came out in the late 70′s would Tony Manero actually have a theme song? a great pick me up as the weekend approaches.

Royce the 5'9

It’s been three days since Slaughterhouse went on DJ Latern’s Invasion show and drop their wicked freestyles.  As incredible as they were there was something familiar about Royce’s verse.  Most of it was something he already wrote.  No worries.  Royce being the man that he is, went back over the beat and redeems himself.

Song below and video of slaughterhouse’s 20 min freestyle below.

Ontorio sextet, The Most Serene Republic, have returned with their third album, …And The Ever Expanding Universe (due out July 14th)  Strong instrumentals, electric vocals, and inspiring music is the best way to describe their latest project.   Our favorite track (so far) is Heavens to Purgatory (below).  If you live in the NY area, The Most Serene Republic will be performing at  Cake Shop (great venue) on June 25th.  From what we’ve heard, their live shows are amazing.

Linda Ronstadt Jenny Lewis takes us back to the 70′s in this retro video for, Black Sand from her album, Acid Tongue. You really took us back Ms. Lewis, I think the last time I saw someone use a Kalediscope in a video, was the RHCP, Zephyr Song.
