The side project of Kyp Malone, Rain Machine is steadily becoming one of our favorite albums of the year. While TV on The Radio‘s latest masterpiece, Dear Science, sounds like it was recorded over and over again to perfection, Rain Machine has a organic sound which draws us in. 100 1213 500x375 Lissie| Everywhere I Go

Lissie Maurus has had a busy month here at the cafe, with two posts, attending her first performance in New York and releasing one of the best short pieces of work this year, her Ep “Why You Running.” In ‘Everywhere I Go,” a touching narrative to heartbreak, love and loss, Maurus belts out a beautiful rich soulful tune that without question puts this current Ojai California native, on our star watch list for 2010.  Ep is in stores now.

// November 23rd, 2009 // No Comments » // Video

Corinne Bailey Rae has been through some tough times over the past year but recently stopped by Jools Holland to give a truly heart warming performance of her new single, “I’d Do It All Again.” The song was inspired after the tragic loss of her husband. Good to see her resurface and wishing all the best, losing is never easy but time heals the deepest of wounds.  The new album “The Sea” is in stores February 2, 2010.

Side Note- Thanks Matt for the update!

Muhsinah| The Oscillations Triangle Teaser [Video]

// November 23rd, 2009 // No Comments » // Video

Muhsinah updates have been as sparse as the “Oscillaitions Square” project that never really got a chance to see the light of day. Hopefully with this teaser vid and release for the upcoming “Oscillations Triangle” (due Dec 1st) things will only continue to increase this song-bird’s already impressive growing resume.
