Quite possibly one of the most complete debut albums I’ve heard in recent years, Anna Calvi is an artists that’s not found too often. Disregard her backing by Brian Eno and Pj Harvey collaborator Rob Ellis, this cinematic ten track effort is superb from intro to finish. Your first great album of 2011 has landed, here’s a favorite cut from the Lp “Suzanne & I,” its dark atmospheric pop at its best and quite seductive, Ms. Calvi has arrived.
