A few months ago we got an album in the cafe called, Hollywood, Mon Amour. We played a bit of it and noticed it was composed of songs from 1980 soundtracks. Some of our favorite tracks from Eye of the Tiger to Flashdance got their tempo slowed. At first listen it was something we couldn’t get into. Early this week, we decided to give it another chance, this time it wasn’t half bad. The album is the brain child of Marc Collin, who is the mastermind behind Nouvelle Vague. According to Marc, he wanted to change the way we feel about 1980 movie soundtracks. I’m still on the fence with some of the songs, but any time we can feature Yael Naim and not mention, New Soul (damn…), then I say lets do it.
