16913023 Retro Throwback | Powderfinger

How can a band that’s been around since 1989 (almost twenty years if your keeping score), be more unknown then Australian rock band, Powderfinger.  The band consists of Bernard Fanning (Vocals, guitars), Darren Middleton (guitars), Ian Haug (guitars), John Collins (Bass) and Jon Coghill (drums).

Back home they are rock legends, having won such awards as the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Awards) for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Song of the Year.  Constantly selling out live venues across the continent and being featured on premier Australian rock stations.

But for some reason they haven’t caught on with the rest of the world.  They’ve toured with Silverchair and Ours, but those bands are overlooked also. Hopefully, being featured on an upcoming Grey’s Anatomy episode will help out there cause (see: The Fray)
