Before Justin Vernon or Bon Iver (whichever you prefer) became the most talked about artist of 2008, the indie fav had collaborated three years ago with fellow wisconsinites Collections of Colonies of Bees. What took place after was a side project aptly named Volcano Choir. There first single “Island, Is” from the album “Unmap” is a far stretch (literally) from Vernon’s previous melancholy standouts. Now that we think about it, is there any wrong that this man can do?
