Back when Duffy’s debut LP, Rockferry came out I wasn’t a huge fan of her single, Mercy. Plus having Hollywood Q constantly tell me she is the next big thing wasn’t exactly working in her favor. Fast forward two years later…thanks to her music popping up on my Pandora station almost everyday, I decided to give the album a shot. I can admit I was pleasantly surprised. My main gripe when she was coming out was, I knew Duffy is a talented artist, but she felt like a puppet of what her music label wanted her to be or sound like. I could be wrong about that, but with other UK artist turning out albums or at being in the public eye (Adele, Lily Allen, and Amy Winehouse) it’s a mystery as to where Duffy is.
