Melanie Fiona the R&B sensation from Canada was born to to Guyanese immigrant parents and grew-up in the inner city of Toronto. The songtress grew up living in a music-filled household and Melanie says that from an early age she knew music was her passion. Her father was a guitarist in a band and would allow her to sit on the stage when she was younger as he practiced. Fiona also recalls her mother’s wide range of music taste; playing everything from The Ronettes to Whitney Houston in the house when she was younger.
Melanie Fiona’s debut album The Bridge is set to be released on September 22nd and her single “Give It to Me Right” peaked at #39 on Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100. Melanie is ready to burst into the US market the way she has in the international scene, having toured extensive in Europe opening for Kanye West on the Glow In The Dark Tour. With the release of her ?uestlove helmed mixtape in July, Fiona gave fans an early appetizer. Dont miss the beginning of the main course.
