It’s been a while since we spoke about Gin Wigamore [here] on this site. Quite frankly, we overlooked her. Wigamore released a CD in New Zealand late last year, and had a drop a few singles in 2009. But thanks to the good people over at thecouchsessions, she is back on our radar. Her latest track, I Do, has a Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson feel to it. But please don’t put her in that category, her raw voice and versatility is her shining point.
Lonelady has released her fascinating debut “Nerve Up” via Warp, as for now we seem to be the only ones around here who’s in the know about the Mancunian artist. Get a full listen via myspace and purchase an album that’s sure to be talked about as the year continue.

I gotta say what’s up to Tony Williams, on the vocals
Tony Williams, the voice behind a ton of Kanye’s vocals releases a mixtape entitled Finding Dakota Grey. Had this mixtape on last night and this morning at the shop, and this guy needs to take center stage instead of doing background vocals. Check the track listing and mixtape after the jump.

I’m always a fan of fan directed videos. This one is directed by Josh Nardo, and is to the tune of B.o.B’s track, Not Love.
Been a while since I’ve checked in on the dudes from the great upnorth. Honestly after this past weekend my dislike for Sid Crosby hit level Orange, so anything from up there was far from thought. Born Ruffians however have eased my mood with some new material from the talented trio. “Sole Brother” is the latest single from there upcoming release “Say It” via Warp.
The track apparently is about not abiding to rules, family members and doing things on your own.

Wow, looks like Yardie got a rip for you guys five days early. Well I’m about to take another 30 minute lunch break and catch up on a show I think I’m starting to get addicted to.
Been quite sometime that we’ve last checked in on psychedelic threesome Tame Impala. Besides making vintage tunes which still seem to be misplaced era wise, these Aussies look to be ready for a busy 2010. Quite honestly, and with the right push, they could be one of your favorite bands by mid year. “Sundown Syndrome” is dare I say it………. very Beatles, then again with a sound like this, a comparison such as the one just stated is inevitable. A full length debut “INNERSPEAKER” is coming soon.

Video teasers are a thing of the new, but when it comes to L.A. based duo J*Davey it seems the word “tease” goes the EXTRA MILE. Here Jack and Brook give us sample of “Get Together” which is our favorite track from there latest Ep “Boudior Synema.”
