The Middle East| Blood [Official Video]

Already the name alone could spark controversy, but the only argument we would have is the under appreciation for this beauty. The Middle East are a six piece set that hail from Australia who give off dreamy high pitch falsettos accompanied with an endearing folk sound. “Blood” is just as gorgeous as the visual up above. They’re headed to SXSW in March, a major buzz should follow after. “The Recordings Of The Middle East” is available now.

Barbara| Pursuit Of Happiness [Kid Cudi Cover]

Barbara Barbara| Pursuit Of Happiness [Kid Cudi Cover]

Barbara seems to be a folk band based out in L.A. and has been on the radar of recent sites over the past week. Apparently they appreciate Kid Cudi as an artist. Although I’m not the biggest advocate for the Ohio native, “The Pursuit Of Happiness” is quite the success track we soley could use in these rough times. Barbara has layed down an acoustic version of the song and here’s what they had to say about the format.

The attached song is a cover of Kid CuDi’s Pursuit of Happiness, which began as a joke after a long night of drinking, and will be your first introduction to Barbara. We are planning to leak a couple tracks from our forthcoming EP.

P.S. We usually don’t use samples, but you’ll notice a clear Iron & Wine sample and the faint humming of the legendary Sam Cooke.

Mumford++Sons Mumford and Sons|Unfisnished Business [White Lies Cover]

Apparently if we were to look on a bill and see this line up at any event, a few question marks may arise. Two different genres and two completely different sounds. Mumford and Sons & White Lies are both massive in there own right so when this cover hit our inbox we were quite amused. The lads from London but a great banjo twist on “Unfinished Business” which you can listen to below. “Sigh No More” is in stores now.

Alela+Diane Alela Diane|Lady Divine [Black Cab Sessions]

Alela Diane stopped by Black Cab Sessions for a riveting performance of “Lady Divine” which is from her latest “To Be Still” album.  We can’t get enough of the Portland native and we’re still scratching our heads as to how some of her best work to date, the very slept on “Headless Heroes” Lp went unnoticed.
