Been a while since I’ve checked in on the dudes from the great upnorth.  Honestly after this past weekend my dislike for Sid Crosby hit level Orange, so anything from up there was far from thought.  Born Ruffians however have eased my mood with some new material from the talented trio.  “Sole Brother” is the latest single from there upcoming release “Say It” via Warp.

The track apparently is about not abiding to rules, family members and doing things on your own.

This week we posted information about “How To Make It In America” which is HBO’s latest discovery. Amongst the highlights of the very promising show and soundtrack was Aloe Blacc. Blacc is a singer songwriter from California who some (underground only) people may remember from the group Emanon. A fusion of soul & hip hop has placed this West coaster very high on our artist watch list over the coming months. Here’s “I Need A Dollar” from the series soundtrack, which is also the intro song for the show.

We say it time and time again, you gotta love the way hip-hop is moving these days. Chiddy Bang’s hit the blogsphere with a force last year with their MGMT sampled track, Kids. Well thanks to lawsuits and other legal issues, Chiddy Bang has change the title of the track to Opposite of Adults and released a video for this track. Keep an ear out for their forthcoming EP, entitled Opposite of Adults.

Meet Nedry, our latest installment of rare finds over the internets. The trio Matt Parker, Chris Amblin & Ayu Okakita (vocals,) is a delightful mixture of dubstep sounds that clearly takes things to the next level. If we all went ape shi- over the XX then Nedry will be a welcomed addition. There upcoming “Condor” album will hit stores February 8th.

The Soft Pack are on the verge of releasing there self titled debut in a few weeks. Although we’re only into the second week of the new decade, these guys have put out an impressive piece of work which we’re sure will hit many list as the year closes. “Cmon” is catchy as hell and sets a punk atmosphere, well at least for two minutes. Album in stores February 2nd.

El Perro Del Mar may be visibly a non factor in this video for “Change Of Heart,” but these two gents sure do make up for her absence. In one of the more intriguing pieces we’ve seen all year check the synchronized visuals up above.

Everything Everything is a four piece from you guessed it……..England and we’ve been sitting on this tune for a bit due to a massive overload of mp3’s in our inbox.  BBC recently put out a 2010 sounds list and nearly half a good percentage of those artists have been covered on the site well before.  Are we bragging? No, should we? well maybe but then again, we’re just keeping you informed on good quality music.  Expect these lads to shine bright in the coming new year.  “My Keys, Your Boyfriend” is already a major hit across the pond and it’s only a matter of time before it reaches state shores.
