Although it failed to make our 12 songs of ‘09 mixtape, this tune was without question one of the highlights last year. El Perro Del Mar & Lykke Li sit down to perform an acoustic version of “Change Of Heart.” Honestly, this track would fit both artists but we prefer El Perro, a little bias but oh well………..

The album originally had a release date of 10/20, but to counter bootleggers and pirates, it has been pushed up to 10/16. Woke up this morning on my way to the Cafe, and had to pile through the nasty rain, and tons of people on their way to ground zero. Needless to say, summer is coming to an end. Early this week we dropped our Maroon Cafe Summer tracks (here), and this morning, we are showing you Quddus, Best of Summer 09 video.
Music festivals are the best thing about the summer and arguably the best one is Lollapalooza. This summer I decided to film as much of my experience there as possible and make a short film out of it. This is what I came up with. The all access perspective brings you right in the mix. It features Lykke Li, Snoop Dogg, Kings of Leon, Asher Roth, Vampire Weekend, Miike Snow, Santigold, Atmosphere, Dan Deacon, Bat for Lashes, Jane’s Addiction and Bon Iver.

If last years show is as crowded and unaccessible as last year we might have to pass. But the Lineup is looking really sweet. Each day is as intriguing as the next.

Drake’s high anticipated Mixtape, So Far Gone, dropped this past Friday and had the Internet buzzing (Over 50,000 downloads in a hour). We sat on, So Far Gone, over the weekend and to say the least, we are impressed. Even though he isn’t in the public’s eye (yet), it’s safe to say he is one of the most versatile artists out today. Whether it’s rapping with his boss, Lil Wayne or singing on duets with Swedish import, Lykke Li. Artists like Drake are the reason we have this site. I don’t know another artist who blends Hip Hop, Indie and Folk into one with such easy.

Don’t know how these guys always get exclusives, but Stereogum got their hands on Lykke Li’s calming and musing video for Tonight. If I had to pick one song off her album to listen to, it would be this. We are used to Lykke Li jumping up and down and doing her world famous crotch dance (See I’m Good, I’m Gone or Breaking It Up). But not this time. Just Lykke Li, a black background, one camera, and your undivided attention. Great change of pace.
