MGMT have released there first single “Flash Delirium” from the highly anticipated sophomoric album “Congratulations.” We’re still trying to decipher what’s going on with this track and while we may be a little miffed, the new sound may grow on us.  Lp to hit stores on April 13th.

Mgmt have revealed artwork for “Congratulations” which is set for release on April 12th.  The duo recruited artist Anthony Ausgang to create the album art for there follow up sophomore effort to “Oracular Spectacular. Really Mgmt? really? and some will think this is amazing, we’ll keep our comments to ourselves.

OK, we are officially confused. I guess the video we featured earlier this month [here] wasn’t Chiddy Bang’s video for Opposite of Adults. No worries, we haven’t gotten bored of the song yet..

Last time we caught up with Joanna Newsom she had the lead role in the MGMT “Kids” video which still has people asking “Is that really Joanna?” well that debate may continue on after our inbox had a new single from the Nevada City native. “Good Intentions Paving Company” is one part Joni Mitchell, two parts Regina Spektor, & three parts Kate Bush, in other words it’s that damn good! Reminds us of late sixties hippies music. We need to have minus the harp more often. Her triple Lp “Have One On Me” via Drag City will be in stores on February 23.

We say it time and time again, you gotta love the way hip-hop is moving these days. Chiddy Bang’s hit the blogsphere with a force last year with their MGMT sampled track, Kids. Well thanks to lawsuits and other legal issues, Chiddy Bang has change the title of the track to Opposite of Adults and released a video for this track. Keep an ear out for their forthcoming EP, entitled Opposite of Adults.

It’s that time of the year when everyone drops their top or best of lists, so keeping in the the tradition, I (London D) has decided to drop my top videos of 2009.  From short story videos (Cinnamon Chasers) , inspirational (Will Smith) and just plain creative [aka low budget], we cover all the bases.  Yesterday, you got to check out Hollywood Q’s list [here], today it’s mine turn.

This past weekend Paolo Nutini stopped by Radio 1’s Live Lounge and performed his latest single Pencil Full of Lead (after the jump), and covered MGMT’s Time To Pretend. Listening to his MGMT cover, it made me think if there is a band that has been covered as much as MGMT in the past two years.  If you live in the UK, check the video of the performance here.

Wale rhymes over The Verve’s (can I say classic?), Bittersweet Symphony, with Colin Munroe performing the chorus. Quality track about fulfilling your dreams and potential. I love how rap is evolving and getting influenced by alternative and rock. You got arguable the greatest MC ever, Jay -Z, having Luke Steele from Empire Of The Sun on his track.  To the new kids on the block like, Drake sampling Peter Bjorn and John or Kid Cudi featuring Ratatat and MGMT.

Kid Cudi had a busy night last night.  He stopped by Letterman to perform his third single, Pursuit of Happiness, from his forthcoming album, Man on The Moon: The End of The Day.  Later on he went to MSG to perform Already Home, with Jay Z (after the jump).
