One of my picks for break artist for 2009, Mickey Factz, kinda took the year off.  He finished last year so strong and begun this year off with track after track…that momentum and quality of music made me make that choice.  Anyway, I guess he was in the lab [all year] gearing up to release his first official project [official means you have to pay for it].

In preparation for the official release of Alpha, We stumbled upon a file and decided we wanted to unearth it. It was a lost exhibit….

Mickey Factz stopped by London to drop a freestyle. And when I say freestyle, I say off the top of the head. Check what DJ Semtex said below.

Mickey Factz passed through my show on 1xtra and blacked out, hard.  He kinda kills it, goes in, smacks it, etc. He sharpens his blade across Hip-Hop, Dubstep, and Funky House.  Not many MC’s can do this. Seriously, aside from Asher Roth and a few others, very few people can actually freestyle live on air.  Pre-written stuff is cool, etc. but you would be suprised at how many people ‘don’t feel well’, or ‘have a cold’, or ‘are tired’ when asked if they want to grab the mic.

Bronx born rapper and Cafe Maroon Fresh Face for 09, Mickey Factz, has been kinda of quiet this year.  Well that’s about to change. Mickey Factz will be performing tonight at the legendary S.O.B’s for his Birthday Bash.  Accompanying Factz on stage tonight is Jade, Stalley & FKi.  As well as a special guest that Factz says will surprise everyone in attendance.

Just getting back from the Roots 2nd annual picnic (review forthcoming), I’m hitting you guys with some tracks that were stuck in my inbox the past few days.  Which brings me to Mickey Factz latest track featuring Kid Cudi entitled Do My Do.  Both artist ride the hell out of this beat and have great chemistry together.

In other news, Kid Cudi, has announced he is dropping his album, this August 25th.  Check out Kid Cudi’s latest video, Heaven At Nite.

Newly signed Roc Nation artist and Maroon’s Cafe Fresh Faces 09, Mickey Factz, has dropped a new song entitled Who’s Hotter.  As usual, Mickey continues to shine as a one of the young lions in the rap game, but it’s the songs production that has me bumping this over and over.  Props to Dot Da Genius on the production.

This year’s Rock The Mic Tour has a solid line-up which will be heading to every major city in the US.  There isn’t any rock on this tour compared to last year, when Rage Against the Machine performed.   RATM is probably the only rock group I can see playing with the rest of these groups.

As soon as the dates are posted, we’ll let you guys know.

One of our Fresh Faces for 2009, Mickey Factz sits down with Karmaloop TV and discusses how he first start writing, who he grew up idolizing, his first big break, the killer track, ‘Overdose On Life,’ and the future of the music industry.

Got a call from one of our underground Cafe contributors letting us know that Mickey Factz, has a show on BET called Rhyme and Reason.  While I could care less about BET.  We’ve got nothing but love for Mickey Factz over at the cafe.  He has a new Honda commercial (above) and the track, “Sensibility,” which is looping in the background is below.
