Bat For Lashes| KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic Performance

Looks like we’ve officially become a KCRW supporter! you may remember last week we featured Metrics great performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic, modern day Kate Bush Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes) stopped by and continued the great lineup of quality indie artists. Natasha provided a very special session, an intimate interview about growing up and how her sound came about. As the new year stands, this is without question our leading lady who’s destined to have an even much bigger outcome before ‘09 closes.

Bat For Lashes | Pearl Dream [Video]

With a back drop that looks like something out of Fight Club (part where Ed Norton was trying to go to his happy land) or Star Trek, cafe fav, Bat for Lashes‘, Pearl Dream has finally seen the light of day. Probably my favorite track off of Two Suns (which is in stores now). We just have one question for Ms. Khan…what’s up with the wolf?

Caroline Weeks | Songs For Edna

cweeks Caroline Weeks | Songs For Edna

UK artist, Caroline Weeks of Bats For Lashes fame has recently released an album entitled, Songs For Edna.  You would figure Ms. Weeks will have a similar sound to Natasha Khan.  While there are some similarities, Songs for Edna is more organic album that sounds like something CaLLmeKAT or Laura Gibson would record.  Check out

Bat for Lashes | Daniel [Live on Letterman]

Bats for Lashes made their network television debut this past Friday on Letterman, while I was drinking my weekly sorrows away.  Simply put…an incredible performance by Ms. Khan and her crew.  In fact, a little to good.  Does anyone know if Letterman allows his guest to lip sync?

If haven’t done it yet, go out and get Two Suns.

Bats For Lashes | Daniel [Live on Jools Holland]

Natasha Khan stopped by what is slowly replacing Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien as my favorite late night music show, Later with Jools Holland.  If you haven’t gotten Bat for Lashes, Two Suns, run out and get it now.  It debuted at #5 in the UK.  We hope it doesn’t take a movie soundtrack for the rest of the world (cough *the US*) to realize her talent, a la M.I.A.

Bats For Lashes | Use Somebody [Kings Of Leon Cover]

Bats For Lashes

We hear everyone’s cry’s and read your comments about how Kings of Leon are getting worst and worst each progressive album. Oh snap, seen what I did there…I said progressive. You have to think a group’s sound would grow and change each album. The Beatles first album sounds nothing like their last one. I feel your pain, but deal with it folks.  Bats for Lashes stop by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge last week and performed a Kings of Leon Cover.  It’s way to early to say this is better than the original, but Ms. Khan made this haunting and stripped down version of “Use Somebody” her own.  Go out and get Bats for Lashes’, Two Sun, which is in stores now!

New Music From Bat For Lashes| Sleep Alone

bat for lashes New Music From Bat For Lashes| Sleep Alone

Bat For Lashes or Natasha Khan if you prefer, is rising in my interest meter as of late.  I was totally clueless on the voice from Brighton England until London D put her music up. I could give you a million excuses on why last week was my introduction to B.F.L but you’re allowed to miss a good one every now and then, besides, running a new website is valid enough. Here’s a listen to “Sleep Alone” which you may have heard a snippet on the Epk London posted a few weeks back. The eagerly awaited album “Two Suns” is in stores next Tuesday.

Update – Two Suns now streaming on MySpace

Bat For Lashes | Daniel [Video]

If you been coming to cafe on a regular basis, then you know we are eagerly awaiting Bat for Lashes forthcoming album, Two Suns. (damn that sounded like a plug).  Today Ms. Khan drops a video for her stalker ode to Daniel-Son from Karate Kid (Wish I could make this up).  Don’t believe us…check the end of the video.  We love the song, but visually, WTF are we looking at?

Bat For Lashes | Moon And Moon [Video]

Yesterday we put up Bat For Lashes track, Glass.  Well today we’ll stalking searching for news, ran across her performance of Moon And Moon on BBC’s Culture Show.  Back by the soul claps of the band Blue Dream, Bat For Lashes puts on another incredible vocal performance.   Now that we are two tracks in, she has us asking around the cafe, can she get any better?
