Been a while since I’ve checked in on the dudes from the great upnorth.  Honestly after this past weekend my dislike for Sid Crosby hit level Orange, so anything from up there was far from thought.  Born Ruffians however have eased my mood with some new material from the talented trio.  “Sole Brother” is the latest single from there upcoming release “Say It” via Warp.

The track apparently is about not abiding to rules, family members and doing things on your own.

Holly Miranda is set to release “The Magicians Private Library” tomorrow on XL recordings.  We’ve got an early listen and we must say it’s a very soothing Lp.  So while the Jealous Girlfriends frontwoman may be overshadowed with all the current heavier promoted releases, familiarize yourself with this album.  A surprisingly brilliant piece of work, Tracklisting and first single “Waves” is after the jump.

Mgmt have revealed artwork for “Congratulations” which is set for release on April 12th.  The duo recruited artist Anthony Ausgang to create the album art for there follow up sophomore effort to “Oracular Spectacular. Really Mgmt? really? and some will think this is amazing, we’ll keep our comments to ourselves.

All has been quite on the Kate Nash front for the past few years. The latest news we heard was that she got engaged to a member of the The Cribs. Jealous Girlfriends frontwoman Holly Miranda is on the brink of releasing her anticipated upcoming debut “The Magician’s Private Library.” Whether she’s covering Lauryn Hill or Jeff Buckley, The Brooklyn native has come up with some pretty impressive performances, this is just another one to add on the list. The Gorillaz are on the verge of releasing Plastic Beach, which means more clever visuals from Mr Albarn and crew. Actually when this hit our inbox, we thought it was a Sony video game promo. Sadly, this is a tease version so if you’re waiting for any characters to jump out…………… don’t bother. Full length album is in stores March 8th.
