MGMT have released there first single “Flash Delirium” from the highly anticipated sophomoric album “Congratulations.” We’re still trying to decipher what’s going on with this track and while we may be a little miffed, the new sound may grow on us.  Lp to hit stores on April 13th.

Chief | Stealing

chief 500x333 Chief | Stealing

Chief has just finished up there debut album and has a new single streaming up on there myspace. “Stealing” continues the classic rock sound we’ve grown accustomed to from the Santa Monica foursome. These dudes are about as American as you’re going to get, we still think maybe just maybe they may have been time warped into the wrong era. Nevertheless some good ole fashion rock can go a long way, so open up your ears and let this cruising tune in. There freshmen Lp should surface soon via Domino.

Erykah Badu Releases New Single| Window Seat [Audio]

Erykah Badu Erykah Badu Releases New Single| Window Seat [Audio]

Apparently Twitter is not as horrid as I thought it out to be. Erykah Badu has released her first single “Window Seat” (via tweet) from the long awaited New Amerykah Part II album, which should see daylight on March 30th. Vintage Badu with ?uestlove on the drums, sounds like a win win if you ask us. New song is after the jump and peep the artwork for the single also, very creative and quite possibly the best artwork I’ve laid my eyes on in quite sometime.

Joanna Newsom| Good Intentions Paving Company

Joanna+Newsom+ellegirl2 Joanna Newsom| Good Intentions Paving Company

Last time we caught up with Joanna Newsom she had the lead role in the MGMT “Kids” video which still has people asking “Is that really Joanna?” well that debate may continue on after our inbox had a new single from the Nevada City native. “Good Intentions Paving Company” is one part Joni Mitchell, two parts Regina Spektor, & three parts Kate Bush, in other words it’s that damn good! Reminds us of late sixties hippies music. We need to have minus the harp more often. Her triple Lp “Have One On Me” via Drag City will be in stores on February 23.

Detachments| Circles [Official Video]

Detachments have released a video for “Circles” which was directed by James Ford. At first the Joy Division sound becomes all too familiar but it grows into something much more, what that is, we’re still trying to discover. Definitely a band to continue keeping watch for as the year progresses.  Single is available now.

Ellie Goulding| Starry Eyed [Official Video]

Ellie Goulding’s journey for the new decade so far includes a Brit award, number one spot in BBC sound of 2010 and now a visual for “Starry Eyed,” which is completely stunning if you ask us. Although this studio version is slightly altered, “Lights” the Herefordshire natives upcoming debut on March 1st is now in high demand.

Lupe Fiasco| I’m Beaming

Lupe+Fiasco+lu shines Lupe Fiasco| Im Beaming

One of those moods today and sort of how we feel after two weeks into the decade.  Lupe Fiasco got on his good side after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and delivered (legally) his latest track “I’m Beaming” which was produced by the NeptunesLasers, his third upcoming album should see daylight soon.

Hurts| Blood, Tears & Gold [Official Video]

Whether they think sites are blackmailing them or not, Hurts will be pretty much a huge deal in 2010. Although a bit of departure from “Wonderful Life” status, “Blood, Tears & Gold” is 80’s power pop ballad all the way. Gotta love the confidence these Manchester lads possess and this has all been done with just two songs and not a single show played. Hype yes, but if Sony has anything to do with it, the hype will be all real.

Mos Def Feat… Talib Kweli| [History Official Video]

Mos Def and Talib Kweli collab in the video for “History.” For now, this is the closet thing we’ll get to seeing a Blackstar reunion, so enjoy. The Grammy nominated Estatic is in stores now.

Joy Orbison is set to have a breakout year and seems to be revitalizing my house music needs.  He’s currently gearing up for his much talked about gig at Fabric this week in London.  Picked as the sound of 2010 by BBC, Mr. Orbison just dropped “She Dressed In Her Best” which clearly takes dubstep to the next level.  Have a listen below.
