MNDR is quickly creating more buzz since her recent guest appearance on the infectious Marc Ronson single ‘Bang Bang Bang.’ Better known as Amanda Warner, she’s a bright mixture of Pop and R&B. Could be confused with a few other familiar artists on a first listen. Yes, by years end she’ll be your next favorite artist, enough said. “I’ll Go Away” is below, keep all the Santigold……excuse me Santogold references to a minimum.

Apparently we’ve been out of the label loop, Roc Nation must have a young crop of good ears over at the office. Hugo is the latest name that we’re sure will be buzzing throughout the blogosphere over the next coming months. Now only if we had info to give (myspace provides no bio) then we’d have a jump on everyone else. What can be said is if “Bread & Butter” indicates future similar sounds then our current headquarters may have a new theme song. Flannel shirts and of shots of Jameson already included.

Singing sensation Mateo has his SOBs debut this coming December. When MATEO walks onstage, sits at his piano and starts one of his heartfelt songs it’s clear that this is an artist on a mission. It’s no coincidence that Mateo lists Lauryn Hill, India.Arie, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Robin Thicke as influences but he’s also quick to give a nod to alternative acts such as Radiohead, Coldplay, Daft Punk and Kanye West. “Everything is merging together, and I like that in my music; a mixture rather than one flavor only; R&B/Pop/Alternative/Soul…Urban Mod, if you want to pick a new genre.”
Mostly recorded in a humble apartment studio in Los Angeles, MATEO’s upcoming album artfully avoids the assembly line of modern pop music by having thoughtful lyricism and sweeping melodies at its core. The first single, “Complicated” is an example of that, with its introspective and honest description an unintended love affair that is now reaching critical mass.

Hotly tipped and soon to be breakout artist Paloma Faith returns with her seductive sound and brand new single, the heartbreaking ballad “New York.” We’ve been rocking to Stone Cold Sobber since early Spring and it’s good to see a nice change of pace from Faith. This is a true tale of love gone bad and the effect of losing someone close to you. Yes we’ve all been there before but as long as we have beautiful tunes such as this, each day gets a little better. “Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful.” is in stores September 28th.
