Yes+Giantess Yes Giantess | The Ruins [Official Video] + Download

Need something to left your spirits today? Check out the quartet from Boston called Yes Giantess. Pretty much Dance-Pop at its absolute finest right here. They share a similar sound with another band from Cambridge, Passion Pit. Only time will tell how much these bands differ from each other. But for now, check out their track The Ruins, which is another great find by Neon Gold.

Bodega Girls| Ain’t That Cold

Bodega Girls

After last week’s tumultuous task of seeking out hotly tipped shows at our first official CMJ, it was nearly impossible to attend every show and some groups literally got lost in the shuffle. Boston’s own Bodega Girls fell victim and not by choice either. With a line-up of 500 bands, being overlooked can be accomplished easily.  A year later, a slew of remixes and a much bigger fan base, new material has arrived from a group we’ve always had high hopes for, and if “Ain’t That Cold” is any indication of future work, then the upcoming new year is looking quite promising and if you need validation, just ask Spin Magazine.

Passion Pit | Sleepyhead [Live in Juan's Basement]

Passion Pit stopped by Juan’s Basement in Boston to perform their hit single, Sleepyhead.  When it comes to this band, it seems you either love them or hate them.  This is due by my evident research of  playing it for my 3 year old cousin and watching her beg me to stop it.  After the track, check out a really strange and slightly interesting interview with Juan.

Passion Pit | To Kingdom Come [Video]

This past weekend I finally got around to listening to Passion Pit’s album, Manners.  I’m not sure if it was all my driving around this weekend, but the album only added to my weekend.  One of my favorite tracks off the album, is To Kingdom Come.  To my amazement PP, dropped a video for this track late last week.  Great visuals to go along with an catchy track.  Single drops officially August 24th.

Passion Pit | Little Secrets

Passion Pit

Passion Pit is back with a new song featuring the rugrats from PS 22.  Their LP,Manners is shaping up to be the ultimate summer time soundtrack.  Maybe I’m caught up in the good weather we are receiving on the east coast, but I can see this blasting from the speakers at Central’s Park Summer Stage and watching the crowd go crazy….ah I can’t wait!!  We wonder if they’re going to bring the children choir with them?

Passion Pit | The Reeling [Video]

Since Passion Pit drop The Reeling last month, it’s been slowly climbing the plays counted chart on my Itunes, as well as replacing Sleepyhead as my favorite PP track.  Their forthcoming album, Manners, from what we’ve heard so far, sounds like a fine-tuned Chuck of Change EP.  Which it should…that’s what you expect when you have a budget to work with.  You can also expect Passion Pit to reach a few more fans this time around.  We’ll all find out on May 19th.

Passion Pit | The Reeling

Manners

Need something more than caffeine to get you through this hump day?  Take a listen to Passion Pit’s head nodding electro pop track, The Reeling.  If you been keeping track of Passion Pit (or stalking like we have), then you might remember this track from their Fader TV interview back in January.  Passion Pit’s full feature LP, Manners, will be released on May 26th.

Passion Pit

This May, everyone’s favorite electro Pop group, Passion Pit, is releasing a follow up to thier Chunk of Change EP, entitled Manners.  The full feature LP will hit shelves and Itunes on May 26th (May 18th if you live in the UK…and earlier if you download music illegally).  The track listing is after the jump.

But before you go crazy and forget about Chunk of Change, Brooklyn group Phone Tag have released a stripped version of I’ve Got Your Number.  Which got us thinking, how the entire album would sound without synth-pop (someone get on that).  Head over to Phone Tag’s MySpace page and check out their blend of Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through The Grapevine and Röyksopp’s latest single, Happy Up Here.
