Jesse Kivel just might be the busiest dude in 2010, despite his current stint with L.A. based foursome Princeton (check below) he’s found time to form another tandem, this time with someone special. Kivel and girlfriend Zinzi Edmunson who’s also a fashion blogger, are part of a new duo called Kisses. The two are dream pop to say the least and if “Bermuda” is any indication of what’s to come from there full length, they could be on the verge of some Sonny & Cher comparisons. Our 2010 Summer soundtrack just received another entry.

Brothers Jesse and Matt Kivel, Ben Usen & David Kitz are Princeton, a four piece set out of L.A. who could be mistaken for the West Coast version of Vampire Weekend. Since ‘09 they’ve created buzz, and with there latest video and single for “Calypso Gold,” that buzz should heighten. Definitely one to keep an ear out for as the months continue.

Been a while since I’ve checked in on the dudes from the great upnorth.  Honestly after this past weekend my dislike for Sid Crosby hit level Orange, so anything from up there was far from thought.  Born Ruffians however have eased my mood with some new material from the talented trio.  “Sole Brother” is the latest single from there upcoming release “Say It” via Warp.

The track apparently is about not abiding to rules, family members and doing things on your own.

Sonnymoon is a duo from Allston Massachusetts and could very well be the greatest find in the little over twenty plus thousand town. Berklee students Anna Wise is on Vocals and Dane Orr is on production and they’re about to fulfill all of your music needs over the next ten months. The Good Natured (Sarah Macintosh) is the latest to arrive out the talent pool of female pop artists from across the pond. In her young age, she’s already drawing similarities to a few more of the well knowns, Bat For Lashes & Kate Nash we’re sure you’ve heard of them! while Sarah has not quite yet packed up a resume such as the above two, her “Body Is A Machine” track is all the evidence we need to boldly predict that this current Uni of Westminster attendee is definitely on course for a major impact this year.
