We introduced you to Sonnymoon earlier this week and besides the tons of emails and downloads regarding there fascinating “Houstalantavegas” cover, the New England duo is simply one the best things going for 2010. Here’s a visual to the track which is also on there “Golden Age” album.
Rox is a few months away from releasing her anticipated debut “Memoirs,” and it’s going to be everything we’ve been waiting for and more. Until you can get your hands on the Lp, here’s an up close and personal look at our Fresh Face for 2010.
Excuse us if we may have been a tad bit late for this one! Coultrain has resurfaced again with “Wanderer” that is currently fulfilling all of our current needs in the soul department. You may remember us introducing the St Louis native last year with his triple p collaboration. Not really much to continue on about this one, the tune itself sums it up. A full length should drop soon, in the meantime head over and purchase the 7″ and a bonus cut as well.

This week we posted information about “How To Make It In America” which is HBO’s latest discovery. Amongst the highlights of the very promising show and soundtrack was Aloe Blacc. Blacc is a singer songwriter from California who some (underground only) people may remember from the group Emanon. A fusion of soul & hip hop has placed this West coaster very high on our artist watch list over the coming months. Here’s “I Need A Dollar” from the series soundtrack, which is also the intro song for the show.

Apparently Twitter is not as horrid as I thought it out to be. Erykah Badu has released her first single “Window Seat” (via tweet) from the long awaited New Amerykah Part II album, which should see daylight on March 30th. Vintage Badu with ?uestlove on the drums, sounds like a win win if you ask us. New song is after the jump and peep the artwork for the single also, very creative and quite possibly the best artwork I’ve laid my eyes on in quite sometime.
Here’s an in depth look at one of our Fresh Faces for 2010 Nneka. We’re expecting big things from this artist as the months continue. Her first album in the states “Concrete Jungle” is available now.
If you missed the last MeanRed party which involved an amazing ?uestlove set then here’s your chance to redeem yourself.
Having worked with uber-produers Diplo, Switch and XXXChange, Amanda Blank a fiery vixen on the mike who’s known for being naughty, direct and in your face. She takes influences as diverse as 90’s R&B, 80’s dance, indie, new wave and brit pop and mixes them into her own type of musical double-dutch. Her dynamic performance on Friday is NOT to be missed.
On the 1’s and 2’s is Anton Glamb — Bushwick party legend and ringleader of Radical Outings.
Hang tight, things are about to get serious.
