Lonelady has released her fascinating debut “Nerve Up” via Warp, as for now we seem to be the only ones around here who’s in the know about the Mancunian artist. Get a full listen via myspace and purchase an album that’s sure to be talked about as the year continue.
Been a while since I’ve checked in on the dudes from the great upnorth. Honestly after this past weekend my dislike for Sid Crosby hit level Orange, so anything from up there was far from thought. Born Ruffians however have eased my mood with some new material from the talented trio. “Sole Brother” is the latest single from there upcoming release “Say It” via Warp.
The track apparently is about not abiding to rules, family members and doing things on your own.

Been quite sometime that we’ve last checked in on psychedelic threesome Tame Impala. Besides making vintage tunes which still seem to be misplaced era wise, these Aussies look to be ready for a busy 2010. Quite honestly, and with the right push, they could be one of your favorite bands by mid year. “Sundown Syndrome” is dare I say it………. very Beatles, then again with a sound like this, a comparison such as the one just stated is inevitable. A full length debut “INNERSPEAKER” is coming soon.

Lissie is on the heels of releasing her debut via possum, We’re guessing this is going to be the first official single being that two versions have surfaced already. Here’s a superb live performance of “In Sleep,” Very Fleetwood Mac if you ask us.
San Diegan favorites The Soft Pack have been promoting there self titled debut Lp at a rapid pace. From having 10 shows in one day, multiple live performances and a release of there new video for Cmon, which is a favorite of ours on the album. An album we highly suggest you pick up.

Wooden Shijps, the San Fransisco residers have been sitting on our shelves since late last year, not by choice but with so much going on well…. you get the point. Actually it was not until I heard there “We Ask You To Ride” track blasting out of the sound system at Cake Shop when I realized the previous statement above. Psychedelic, Trance and if you weren’t in the know (thanks to us) you would think this was a Doors tune. Jim Morrison-esque indeed indeed. There latest Ep “Dos” is in stores now.

We’re starting to believe that if ‘09 was a year full of electro-pop divas battling for first position, then ‘10 should bring back females with an edge, or rock-lite because this is not the days of past, so we must take what we can get. Case in point Queen Kwong, an L.A. based musician who just popped up on our radar last week! Apparently she has a fascination for cats, guns,? & music plus some sort of connection with Dave Navarro. An ep is in the works for an early release in the next few months followed by an full length. Here’s “Pet” which should become a favorite very soon with Valley girls from all over! Solid at best, we’ll keep ya updated as the word continues to spread.
