Over the past couple of weeks my love for Swedish band has been growing, after getting my hands on their five minute melody for Swedish Radio, jj covers, Akon and Rick Ross over samples of The Dream and the xx, with a touch of Charles Manson voice for fun.  Your saying WTF?  We know. This is great music!

What’s going on with the Swedes as of late? we’re starting to believe there’s some sort of machine pumping out quality artists and we’re just late with the memo.  O’Spada is the latest prototype to import our ears here in the states.  Honestly, we’ve never heard of them, but after getting our hands on “Ten Strikes,” and hearing the R&B lush vocals of Julia Spada, we intend to find out more.  Penning a song about domestic abuse (which is always a touchy subject) with a banging 80’s groove is a give and take, either way the track is ace. Turn this up, it may make your day go by much smoother.

Little Dragon stopped by Morning Becomes Electic for a soothing performance of songs from there latest album “Machine Dreams.” If you’ve yet to see this band live, there set to perform at Le Poison Rouge in New York on November 21st.

What might be soundtrack of the year (just looking at it on paper), The Twlight Saga: New Moon, has found it’s way on the internets.  The album originally had a release date of 10/20, but to counter bootleggers and pirates, it has been pushed up to 10/16.  Head over to billboard.com to check out Lykke Li’s standout track, Possibility, or listen to it below.

Before we start talking about JJ we would like to send a huge thank you to Sincerely Yours.  The Swedish label, which is founded by The Tough Alliance, has supplied the music world with some intriguing artists.  The bands are JJ (main reason for this post), Air France, Jonas Game, and Memory Cassette.  If you been keep tracking at home, we played a JJ video last week (here).  Their debut album, jj n° 2, drop earlier this summer.  The nine track LP is definitely something you play when your next to a beach or chilling on your porch in your saddles.  Feel good, summer music.  Come to think of it for some reason, we keep playing summer music.  Even though the music is uplifting and fun, it’s getting us depressed.

Swedish group Lake Heartbeat, is electro indie pop at it’s finest.  Lake Heartbeat is the brain child of Swedish indie pop icon, Janne Kask.  Seems like we can’t let go of summer around the cafe, and this song puts us right back in that summer mood.

If you live in the UK, you have no reason not to own Little Dragon’s latest album, Machine Dreams.  Luckily we got our hands on an advance copy and have been jamming out for the past week and a half.  Before we close the shop we got this nice video in our mailbox. Something to hold you down, until their CD drops in the states.  Swimming Pool is a not your normal music video, it’s an animated clip that was illustrated by Yusuke Nagano.  If that name Nagano sounds familiar, it’s because it’s lead vocalist’s Yukimi’s father.

Swede favorites and one of our first original artists to interview Little Dragon, have been a staple in our music catalog since there epic debut album.  We’ve been an unofficial street team for a few years telling the masses (literally) about the dopeness coming out of Gothenburg.  Now with a sophomore release “Machine Dreams” dropping on August 19th and a major buzz around the blogosphere, Yukimi and crew are ready to announce there place in break out artistville.

Only thing is we knew what everyone else is just finding out, but we’ll forgive all of those who just received there late slips in the mail.  Here’s there new single “Feather” where the band takes us on an epic journey of electronic-soul that captures our hearts once again.

Our favorite swedes Little Dragon have decided to follow up there classic self titled debut with a sophomore effort “Machine Dreams” which is slated for an August release.  The band have decided to part with there trip hop ways we’ve grown accustom to and indulge into a heavier electro funk sound.  As long as Yukimi’s warm vocals remain intact then we surely don’t see any problem with the change.  While “Feather” will be the first official single from the album, we got our hands on “Blinking Pigs” a snare drum synth-pop delight that just flat out jams.

El Perro del Mar or Sarah Assbring is a Swedish artist who’s no stranger to the scene, formed back in 2003, El Perro has gained notariety globally. While the states may not be familiar with her music a quick re-introduction seems likely. As bad weather retreats us to life inside our lovely homes, this tune may just get you through the week. Covering Aaliyah (excuse us….) The Isley Brothers “At Your Best You Are Love” is no easy task, in fact some songs just need to stay locked up with no trace of there location. Vocally this is not bad, blame the casio (keyboard) for it’s cheeseyness. Oddly enough, we can vision this played at a few lounges around the local area.
