Mercy Arms is an rock band from Sydney, Australia. They formed in early 2005, the four-piece is composed of Thom Moore (lead vocals, guitar), Kirin J. Callinan (guitar), Ash Moss (bass guitar) and Julian Sudek (drums, percussion). As they were coming up as a group they toured in Australia with The Strokes and record with Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio. A big accomplishment for a new band.
We got our hands on their self-titled debut album, which came out in August 2008. It’s some of the best music we’ve heard in a while. Sadly, it might be the last time we hear from Mercy Arms. Word has it they broke up in February of this year, due to creative differences. A bit of good news is that they have side projects which include ‘Fashion Launchers Rocket Launchers‘ and ‘Kirin J.
